4. 2nd XV Senior Team First Aider


Job Title: 2nd XV Senior Team First Aider (Volunteer)

Overview: Billericay Rugby Club is seeking a dedicated and organised individual to take on the essential role of 2nd XV Senior Team First Aider. In this volunteer position, you will need to be Rugby First Aid trained and be available for the 2nd XV on their match days. The role of a First Aider within a rugby club is crucial to support the well-being of players during matches.

As a first aider, you will provide immediate medical assistance to injured or ill players until professional help arrives.

Key Responsibilities:

Emergency Response:

  • Matchday First Aider for the 2nd XV senior team to assess and manage incidents/injuries immediately.
  • Administer basic first aid as needed until expert help arrives.
  • Coordinate with emergency services if/when necessary.

Qualifications and Training:

  • Ensure the required first aid training is up to date.
  • Understand the specific requirements for rugby-related injuries.
  • Stay informed about any changes in first aid protocols.

Player Welfare:

  • Take ownership of a First Aid kit bag ahead of any games.
  • Prioritise player safety and well-being.
  • Provide reassurance and support during incidents.

Collaboration:

  • Communicate effectively with the First Aid Coordinator and or Wellbeing officer
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of injury report forms as appropriate.
  • Work closely with team management and coaching staff.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe playing environment.
  • Contribute to the overall welfare of the rugby club.

Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate must be Rugby First Aid trained in line with the RFU courses. Will need to be a good communicator, well organised, be able to deal with rugby related injuries, but the most important attribute is a willingness to get involved and make a positive impact.
