Did you know that Billericay RFC and particularly our Junior Section, the Billericay Bees are one of the leading and most active Saracens Partner Clubs in the South of England?

Junior players who were a member of the club last season or even longer will hopefully have already experienced some of the exciting activities which being a Saracens Partner Club gives Billericay Bees access to.

Who are Saracens though?

Saracens are one of the most successful English professional rugby clubs of the modern era. They are based in Hendon, North London and are three times European Champions and six times Premiership Champions. They have produced a string of superstar international players including current England captain Jamie George, England lock Maro Itoje and until his recent move to France, former England captain Owen Farrell.

Since 2015 Billericay RFC has been developing a close relationship with Saracens which has generated many exciting events and opportunities for all our members in the Junior and Senior sections and their families and friends.

With a culture built on honesty, discipline, humility and workrate we feel we share so many of the same values and we firmly believe that Saracens can act as a great guide for us at Billericay RFC.

What opportunities does the relationship bring?

Match Day experiences and Festivals:

Saracens offer offer a range of bespoke visits for partner clubs to attend their home ground, the StoneX Stadium, for matches and festivals.

In May 2024, over 250 players, family and friends took part in a ‘takeover’ at the StoneX Stadium where our Junior players trained on the pitch and then formed a guard of honour for the players when they took to the pitch in the Premiership match vs Sale.

In addition to this, as a partner club, we attend the annual ‘big game’ which have been held in the past at Wembley and London Stadium and now at Tottenham Stadium branded as 'The Showdown'.

Billericay Bees had the honour of forming the guard of honour at Wembley in 2016 and then again at Tottenham Stadium in 2023 – a priceless and unforgettable experience for our young players!

We are expecting to take around 400 people to the next Showdown on March 22nd 2025 – put the date in the diary now!

Our Junior teams are also regular visitors to the Saracens match day festivals where they play a number of teams from other counties who we do not regularly play and then settle down to watch a Premiership or Cup match.

Rugby Camps:

We hold regular Saracens rugby camps at Billericay RFC, normally during October half term, these are always very popular and are run by experienced coaches from the Saracens Community Team.

Academy Player Visits:

We have been visited by Saracens Academy Players to help with training sessions, many of these young players have since gone on to represent Saracens first team in the Premiership.

Trophy Displays:

Billericay RFC have hosted both the Premiership and European trophies at our ground when Saracens have been the holders of those titles, lots of selfie opportunities! We look forward to more future visits!

We are all very excited by this partnership. We particularly hope it will inspire and provide a pathway for our youngsters in the game of rugby.
